More negotiations with trades, looks like we have a framer lined up, $8k less than Jeremy's price. Jeremy for his part didn't want to commit to the rest of the project but a little hand holding and we seem to have him back on board. Also looks like we have a plumber and electrician on board. Big pieces missing still are HVAC and roofing, but I'm not worried about being to piece those together.
Meanwhile finalizing details on the windows - those are not cheap - and trying to move on the kitchen. Eleanor and Leonia were here last week. Need to make choices on appliances (that's Jodi's territory) and flooring (wood vs tile, I'm pro wood, Jodi and Eleanor are pro tile).
Slow moving on the packing, very slow.
Getting a rental has proven more difficult than expected, the short term nature of our request has been scaring people off more than I thought it would. Ultimately that lesson cost us Rhodes, the place that Jodi really wanted, has left us scrambling, looking at a longer than hoped for lease and leaning towards a place that is not quite what we were hoping for. But we need it behind us for emotional reasons and frankly to start moving some stuff into, the basement needs to be cleared in a couple weeks.
